Alternative medicine practices are used instead of standard medical treatments & any medical treatment that is not part of conventional evidence-based medicine, such as one would learn in medical school, nursing school or even paramedic training. Technically, “alternative” treatments are used in place of conventional medicine; when used alongside standard medical practices; alternative approaches are referred to as complementary medicine.
